Coordination of Front-Line Demonstration under ICAR-AICRP on Cotton 

• A total of 516 FLDs on Integrated Crop Management (ICM), 154 Front Line Demonstrations on Desi / ELS cotton / seed production and 184 Front Line Demonstrations on intercropping with cotton were conducted by ICAR-AICRP on Cotton with a budget outlay of 74.66 lakh rupees for the year 2025-26. Altogether, 1369 farmers participated in demonstrations conducted in an area of 854 hectares
• A total of 557 FLDs on Integrated Crop Management (ICM), 159 Front Line Demonstrations on Desi / ELS cotton / seed production and 149 Front Line Demonstrations on intercropping with cotton were conducted by ICAR-AICRP on Cotton with a budget outlay of 70.79 lakh rupees for the year 2024-25. Altogether, 1490 farmers participated in demonstrations conducted in an area of 865 hectares.  
• A total of 397 FLDs on Integrated Crop Management (ICM), 84 Front Line Demonstrations on Desi / ELS cotton / seed production and 135 Front Line Demonstrations on intercropping with cotton were conducted by ICAR-AICRP on Cotton with a budget outlay of 50.12 lakh rupees for the year 2023-24.  Altogether, 1161 farmers participated in demonstrations conducted in an area of 616 hectares.  
• A total of 538 FLDs on Integrated Crop Management (ICM), 163 Front Line Demonstrations on Desi / ELS cotton / seed production and 165 Front Line Demonstrations on intercropping with cotton were conducted by ICAR-AICRP on Cotton with a budget outlay of 70.91 lakh rupees for the year 2022-23.  Altogether, 1639 farmers participated in demonstrations conducted in an area of 866 hectares.  

Conduct of Front-Line Demonstration at ICAR-CICR, Regional Station, Coimbatore

• Ten FLDs on ELS Cotton technologies were conducted at Thirupathur District, Tamil Nadu during 2025-26 in 25 farmers’ fields.
• Ten FLDs on ELS Cotton technologies were conducted at Perambalur and Thirupathur Districts, Tamil Nadu during 2024-25 in 25 farmers’ fields.
• Twenty FLDs on ELS Cotton technologies were conducted at Thirupathur District, Tamil Nadu during 2022-23 in 50 farmers’ fields.

e-Kapas voice SMS – Mobile Phone Based Advisory Services

• During the year 2025-26, 257766 Voice SMS on 52 Best Farm Practices in Cotton were sent as mobile advisories to around 12000 beneficiaries in Tamil Nadu
• During the year 2024-25, 396468 Voice SMS on 52 Best Farm Practices in Cotton were sent as mobile advisories to around 12000 beneficiaries in Tamil Nadu
• During the year 2023-24, 451748 Voice SMS on 52 Best Farm Practices in Cotton were sent as mobile advisories to around 12000 beneficiaries in Tamil Nadu; Under ICAR-CICR and CCI Extension Pilot project a total of 97,13,016 Voice SMS on 517 contents were sent as mobile advisories to 587582 cotton growers in India
• During the year 2022-23, a total of 541478 Voice SMS on 52 Best Farm Practices in Cotton were sent as mobile advisories to around 11000 beneficiaries in Tamil Nadu

• A radio talk on “CICR and Its achievements” was broadcast on 04.02.2024 in view of farmers’ day at All India Radio, Coimbatore

• A Farm Field School on AIR with a title “Vazhvai Viruthiyaakkum Paruthi (Prosperous Life through Cotton)” was conducted in collaboration with All India Radio, Coimbatore with 20 talks from 06.03.2024 to 17.07.2024
