• Seed Storage and Quality Improvement

• Mechanical operations such as Side Shoot Removal, Detoping+Side Shoot Removal or Detoping exhibited significant improvement in Seed Germination, Seed Vigour and GOT % as compared to control.
• Recommended package of practices coupled with foliar application of Micronutrients+ KNO₃ and KNO₃ alone can be used to harvest high quality pure seed yield, seed quality with better seed recovery percentage. 
• Refrigeration conditions are better alternatives than ambient conditions for medium term seed storage.
• Vacuum containers like, polythene bags (700-800 gauge); aluminium packets; modified gases (Argon, CO₂) and Zeolite Beads are the best containers and environment for enhancing the shelf life of cotton seed for short to medium storage.
